RTO Project Officer

The Australian Trade Training College is a not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering a variety of courses across multiple industries. Due to recent growth, we are seeking an RTO Project Officer to join our team. 

Working closely with the RTO Project Coordinator, you will work on student recruitment and engagement for our pre-employment programs, including full qualifications and skill set programs. Through building strong relationships with referral partners, community organisations, employers and schools, you will create opportunities for students to complete programs and take the next step to employment.

 Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Provide advice, guidance and support to students in undertaking RTO programs including enrolments and ongoing course completion
  • Market and promote program services according to agreed activities and represent the RTO at industry and community functions and events across the project region
  • Secure work placement opportunities for students, especially in our priority industry sectors of electrical, construction, engineering and automotive
  • Maintain accurate records of student progression and placements, including contact details, placement schedules and feedback from employers
  • Coordinate with RTO Project Coordinator and RTO Head of Department – Programs to ensure students are progressing, engaged and placements are scheduled and completed
  • Complete placement agreements, orientations and all other relevant documentation
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from students, employers, schools and internal staff regarding programs and student placements
  • Build, maintain and enhance relationships with employers and community groups to secure student engagement and placements, providing ongoing support and guidance to all stakeholders
  • Act as primary contact for program enquiries, enrolments, placements, coordinating student support and evaluation
  • Promote apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities for students

  • Excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Competent in MS Office and use of databases or portals
  • RTO experience and knowledge of VET programs, along with apprenticeships and traineeships would be highly advantageous
  • Self-motivated and able to work both autonomously and part of a team
