Traineeship – Certificate III Business – Youth Pastor

You would obtain your Certificate III Business BSB30120 in a two-year time frame in the capacity of Youth Minister, providing administrative support to the Director of Catholic Identity and Ministry, and the College Ministry Team.

What would this involve?

• You would be employed by Work & Training for the duration of your training contract & hosted to MacKillop Catholic College.
• Full time hours & full entitlements including four weeks of holidays per year.
• Some overnight and weekend work at events & retreats.
• Theory training conducted one-on-one in the workplace with our experienced trainer.
• You would receive mentoring and support throughout the traineeship from our Apprenticeship Employment Consultant.
• Your workplace supervisors would provide daily coaching and opportunity for growth. 

The role of the Youth Minister is to assist in the animating of spirituality and faith formation of students and staff, and promoting the Gospel as a guide for living in their context and time.

Duties & Responsibilities would include:

• Support the preparation and implementation of Student Spirituality Retreats & Staff Spirituality days.
• Support the preparation and implementation of fundraising & awareness campaigns.
• Prepare prayer resources for groups & classes.
• Preparation for liturgical events and celebrations.
• Assist in the development and lead some aspects of retreats and reflection opportunities.
• Administration duties including document management, communication with all stakeholders, bookings and the publication of articles.

Essential Criteria:

• Ability to obtain a National Police Check
• Ability to obtain an employment-based Working with Vulnerable People licence.
• Drivers licence and reliable vehicle.
• Understanding of, and ability to contribute to, the mission of MacKillop Catholic College as a Catholic school.
