Our Diploma of Youth Work course has a written and practical component in which you will receive a dedicated trainer team support throughout your studies. To achieve the Diploma of Youth Work qualification we will ensure you are assigned 160 hours of work placement experience to apply the skills and knowledge you have gained in a real-world setting.

This course starts by giving you a basic understanding in developmental psychology and the changes that evolve from early childhood to someone in late adulthood. You will then move on to various common developments of adolescent psychology and the physical, emotional, social and sexual developments that can occur during this stage of their life. The final module quickly dives deeply into the various learning disorders including the signs and symptoms of these.

Understanding the way young people think and behave and managing these different conditions is an essential skill directly relevant for many industries. This course will teach you to be sensitive to the needs of children and educate you on interacting in a positive way with children during therapy and also outside of sessions.
You will learn different approaches for helping children by internalising and externalising problems. The course has been constructed to give you the skills and knowledge to guide our leaders of tomorrow towards a happy and rewarding life. We start from the basics in counselling children and assessing their common psychological problem, followed by diving into a variety of disorders that are common today. This course then moves on to various mental health problems that children and adolescents commonly experience in current society.
