Certificate Description:  Working as a Mechanical Fitter you will use tools, machines, equipment and engineering techniques to maintain and repair mechanical plant and equipment to operational standards. Work includes identification of defect or worn mechanical components or equipment, repair/replacement of worn/faulty components or equipment, and modifications. Parts may be repaired or manufactured using general application of workshop machines including lathes, milling and drilling machines. Thermal heating and cutting and welding equipment are also utilised. Note: Skills development should be undertaken through an Australian Apprenticeship arrangement.
