Certificate Description:  Working as a Production Machine Setter/Operator you will set-up, adjust, operate and monitor machine tools used to produce components in a production environment. Work would generally include setting machines for operation including mounting tools and cutters, loading and verifying machining programs, performing inspection of machined components for correct conformity to specifications and monitoring the machining process. Tools utilised would include engineering measurement equipment, hand tools and hand held power tools. Work may also involve providing machine operators with basic operational instructions. This qualification is designed to provide an industry recognised skills profile related to production work as an Engineering/ Manufacturing Employee - Level V. Note: Skills development should be undertaken through an Australian Apprenticeship arrangement.
