Apprenticeship – Hard Landscaping

Sam the Paving Man is seeking a motivated Apprentice Hard Landscaper to join their team and build a rewarding career in landscape construction. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working across some of Sydney’s premier residential and commercial properties.

Working alongside experienced landscapers, the successful applicant will develop practical skills and industry knowledge while completing a nationally recognised qualification. They will learn a range of hard landscaping techniques, safely operate tools and equipment, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality landscaping projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the construction and installation of paving, retaining walls, edging, and other hard landscaping features.
  • Support site preparation activities, including excavation, levelling, compaction, and base preparation.
  • Help lay, cut, and finish paving materials to a professional standard.
  • Learn to safely operate hand tools and small machinery used in landscape construction.
  • Perform routine equipment cleaning, maintenance, and fault reporting.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and participate in daily safety briefings.
  • Support environmentally responsible work practices, including the correct disposal of waste materials.
  • Attend off-site training and successfully complete all apprenticeship requirements.
  • Contribute to the delivery of neat, professional, and high-quality workmanship.
