Work & Training, in partnership with our valued Government host in Launceston, is excited to offer a Certificate III in Business (BSB30120) traineeship. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated school leaver or early career candidate looking to build a future in finance administration within a supportive and professional health related environment.

What You’ll Be Doing 🗂️

As a Trainee, you will gain valuable hands-on experience while supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy healthcare finance team. Working under supervision, you will assist with accounts receivable processes, debt management activities, cash handling and transaction reconciliations, while developing your skills in financial administration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with accounts receivable, debt recovery and financial administration processes.
  • Supporting the reconciliation of daily transactions, cash handling and petty cash activities.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and updating finance systems.
  • Providing customer service and responding to account inquiries from patients, staff and external stakeholders.
  • Checking financial data for accuracy and helping resolve discrepancies.
  • Supporting the provision of financial information to patients and clients – you will be visiting patients in a hospital setting to complete private health insurance admission paperwork and other documentation.
  • Assisting patients to complete health fund and hospital forms, ensuring information is accurate and complete.
  • Undertaking a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support the finance team.
  • Participating in workplace training, quality improvement and safety initiatives while building practical skills and knowledge.
