About the role:

Set in the coastal community of Lakes Entrance, where the Gippsland Lakes meet the Southern Ocean, this role offers the chance to build practical skills in a friendly primary school environment. You will assist teachers and education support staff with classroom activities, student routines and learning programs while completing formal training through AGA.

What your school day could look like:

  • Supporting students one-on-one or in small groups under teacher direction.
  • Encouraging students to join in with learning, routines and school activities.
  • Assisting with literacy, numeracy and communication activities.
  • Helping create a positive, inclusive and welcoming classroom vibe.
  • Preparing classroom resources, learning materials and equipment.
  • Following school policies, child safety requirements and workplace procedures.
  • Building real skills while completing your traineeship with AGA.

You might be a good fit if you:

  • Enjoy working with children and supporting their learning journey.
  • Bring patience, kindness and a can-do attitude to your day.
  • Communicate well and enjoy being part of a team.
  • Are reliable, curious and ready to learn new skills.
  • Can follow instructions and work under teacher supervision.
  • Are committed to completing your traineeship and study requirements.
  • Have a current Victorian Working with Children Check, or are willing to obtain one.
  • Meet traineeship eligibility requirements, which may include Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

Why you will love this opportunity

  • Earn while you learn in a supportive primary school setting.
  • Work towards a nationally recognised Certificate III in School Based Education Support.
  • Receive mentoring, coaching and ongoing support from AGA.
  • Enjoy school-friendly hours, Monday to Friday.
  • Be part of a role that makes a genuine difference in the lives of young learners.
