Course Overview

The Certificate III in Education Support course will give you an understanding of how to assist with the implementation of planned educational programs, contribute to student education in all developmental domains, support the development of numeracy, literacy and oral language skills, contribute to the
management of a classroom and centre, and facilitate learning for students with additional needs.

Upon graduation, you’ll be qualified to work as a Teacher Aide, designing and helping to facilitate educational programs that will guide children’s learning and development. You will work closely with Teachers to reinforce content covered in lessons and provide additional support to students where required.

With the Certificate III in Education Support qualification, you also have the choice to work as an Education Officer, assisting staff in the day-to-day running of public and independent schools and community education settings.

Education
Whilst there are no formal entry requirements mandated by the training package, students’ skills and capabilities to undertake this training product will be assessed and advice on suitability will be provided during the pre-enrolment process.

Minimum Age
Students under the age of 18 years require the signed consent of a parent or guardian to enrol in this qualification.

Residency Status
You will need to be a permanent Australian resident or equivalent.

Placement
Students must apply for their Working with Children check at course commencement.
For mandatory work placement (100 hours), students must have access to an education environment AND a qualified teacher who is employed at the school.
