Entry Requirements:

As a guide, entrants to this program may:

  • Have completed year 10, or a qualification at Certificate II level or higher, or 2 years of relevant industry experience in a role that requires the use of written documentation and communication
  • You will also need to be at least 18 years at the time of applying for admission
  • The participants for the CHC33015 – Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) may be already working in a supporting or community role, or  maybe new to this field of work
  • Participants who enter this course are from diverse backgrounds with a distinct interest and a willingness to support others in achieving positive personal outcomes through fulfilling helping capacity roles
  • Participants will require a good level of physical fitness to perform all the requirements of a Care Worker. This can include all aspects of manual handling, lifting, bending, stretching and physical transfer of clients
  • This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason
  • Work involves using discretion and judgement in relation to individual support as well as taking responsibility for own outputs. Workers have a range of factual, technical and procedural knowledge, as well as some theoretical knowledge of the concepts and practices required to provide person-centred support
  • At this level, work takes place under the direction of others and supervision may be direct or indirect. Work may take place in a range of community services organisations
  • To ensure participants are able to seamlessly access our online learning platform and video content, they will require access to a modern computer with high-speed internet. Participants will also need to possess basic computing skills and may be required to complete a Language Literacy and Numeracy skills assessment before enrolment can be confirmed
