Course Overview

This qualification will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver and assess nationally accredited courses and other workplace training programs.

St John Ambulance Australia provides TAE40116 in 3 different forms:

The full TAE40116 Cert IV in Training and Assessment

  • 30 weeks, 1 day per week
  • For new trainers
  • Workshops run from 8.30am – 5.30pm on the same day each week.

Upgrade program from TAE40110 to TAE40116

  • 1 day with additional e-learning components
  • For TAE40110 holders

Assessor Skillset

  • For enterprise trainers

Entry Requirements:

To commence this course, you are required to have:

  • Knowledge and skills in a specific vocational area (e.g. first aid, nursing, youth work) – you must bring evidence (resume, statement of attainment, certificate of relevant qualification) of this to your first class
  • Provide a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI)
  • You must also have good oral and written communication skills in English – as part of the enrolment process, you will be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment
  • Laptop or tablet which is Wi-Fi enabled
  • Good computer skills to complete the assessments involved – a full introduction to our Learning Management software will be provided in the first class
